Biography Soviet painter, artist from Vladimir. 1947. After graduating from secondary school, he went to the city of Vladimir to study at the Arts and Crafts School. At that time, there were some fine teachers of painting there. Professors of the old school such as Nikolai Sychov, Fyodor Zakharov, Sergei Preobrazhensky and other Moscow artists were then living and working in Vladimir. He subsequently spent a substantial time sketching. 1950. After completing his studies, he worked in a restoration workshop under the guidance of Professor Sychov. He learned about ancient church murals and beautifully painted icons. 1955. Worked intensively in art studios in Podolsk. Took part in exhibitions in Russia, then at All-Union and other exhibitions. While working and studying, he travelled throughout the country and abroad, with groups of artists as well as on his own. 1961 Admitted to the USSR Artists' Union. 1962 Admitted to the Moscow Artists' Union. Worked at the Moscow Regional Artists' Union. Worked at the Artistic Plant. His life was unthinkable without painting, and therefore without creative work. He participated in a large number of exhibitions, both individually and as part of a group, in Moscow, the RSFSR and at All-Union exhibitions. Individual exhibitions were held in Nizhny Novgorod, Podolsk, and Moscow. The artist's works are now displayed in various museums in Moscow, Saratov, Krasnodar, Vilnius and Kazan, and can also be found in private collections in Russia, the CIS and abroad.
His works explores a wide range of themes, and includes landscapes, portraits, still life paintings, genre and philosophical works.
